The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. It is a beautiful building in relaxing and natural surroundings that are very well maintained. You feel like you are completely away from it all yet it has the advantage of being very close to towns and motorway access.
The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been if it had a swimming pool.
The hotel is absolutely gorgeous. It's history alone make it a wonderful place to stay. Grounds are unbelievably beautiful and lovely to just stroll in. A very romantic experience. I really can't fault anything with the Elvetham.
The location, buildings and the gardens. Beautiful.
On this particular visit the room was fairly confined for a double size room. Prefer the Courtyard rooms.
The building, inside and out, and location were stunning, and we enjoyed the visible standards of care taken of the hotel and the grounds.
Our experience at the Elvetham got off to a poor start, as the receptionist who checked us in was unwelcoming and indifferent, and allocated a housemaid's room amongst the chimney pots... which is why I haven't filled in the survey for staff above - which was a shame, as everyone else was delightful. However when I phoned down regarding a room change I happily got someone else, who gave us a lovely room in the courtyard annexe, and everything else made for a very happy stay; however if that hadn't happened we would have been looking elsewhere for accommodation, and I would not have returned or recommended same.
Everything was perfect we had a very romantic time and plan to stay again, we would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Staff, rooms grounds and food were all perfect
Exceptionally well-manicured grounds and a lovely building
Great service and friendly staff in a lovely setting
The rooms were a tad old fashioned but were extremely clean and tidy.
Beautiful location, impressive building, cosy rooms and comfy beds
I ate in the bar and although the food was lovely, the portions were small.
The parkland is beautiful. A great place to escape to after a difficult day at the office !
Some paintwork and hall carpeting is shabby
Excellent facilities, superb food, excellent service.
Like being in your own national trust property - just stunning
A pity that you could hear the M3 when looking around the gardens
The tranquil setting
The continual buzz of the nearby motorway traffic
Very enjoyable stay, good location and stunning hotel. All staff friendly and helpful.
The location was very peaceful and historic. Reception staff were very accomodating
The breakfast was one of the worst I have had in a hotel. The egg and hash browns were burnt underneath and the waitress was miserable !
Beautiful buildings and lovely grounds
Neede a car to fully appreciate the surroundings.
